
(RTTNews) - Industrial production in Italy grew a seasonally adjusted 2.6% month-on-month in January, rebounding from the 0.2% decrease in the previous month, the Italian statistical office ISTAT said on Wednesday. Economists were looking for a 0.7% increase.
Compared to January 2009, the working day industrial production index inched up 0.1%, after the 5.4% fall seen in the preceding month. Economists had expected a 3.4% fall.
Industrial output was unchanged in the three months to January period when compared to the preceding three month period.
