
U.S. stocks sink; materials and energy shares hit

NEW YORK (MarketWatch)
U.S. stocks on Monday extended an opening slide, with the major indexes all falling more than 1%, with materials and energy shares leading the decline.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average delayed (8,763, +0.23, +0.00%) fell 106.78 points, or 1.2%, to 8,656.3. The S&P 500 (939.14, -0.95, -0.10%) dropped 10.92 points, or 1.2%, to 929.17. The Nasdaq Composite
(1,842, -7.02, -0.38%) declined 26.90 points, or 1.4%, to 1,822.5.
