(RTTNews) - Thursday, Germany's Federal Statistical Office announced that the producer price index or PPI rose 0.6% year-on-year in April, compared to the 1.5% fall in the previous month. Economists expected an increase of 0.4%. A year earlier, the PPI was down 2.7%.
On a monthly basis, the PPI rose 0.8% in April, faster than the 0.7% growth in the preceding month. Economists were looking for an increase of 0.6%.
