Japan Household Spending -0.7% On Year In April


(RTTNews) - Average spending for two-or-more person households in Japan eased 0.7 percent on year to 299,996 yen in April, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications said on Friday.
That was sharply below expectations for a 2.5 percent annual increase following the 4.4 percent increase in March.
The average monthly spending for wage-earners' households was 474,616 yen, up 1.6 percent on year. The average of consumption expenditures was 331,621 yen, down an annual 2.3 percent.
The propensity to consume came in at 86.4 percent.
