(RTTNews) - German manufacturing growth slowed to a six-month low in August, but service sector growth accelerated to a three-year high, figures showed on Monday. The Markit Germany composite purchasing managers' index rose to 59.3 from 59.0 in July. This marks a four-month high in the indicator.
This was mainly due to a rise in the services PMI, which rose to 58.5 from 56.5, a three-year high. Economists were looking for a score of 56.2.
On the other hand, the manufacturing PMI slid to 58.2 from 61.2, a six-month low. Economists had forecast a score of 60.9.
The manufacturing output index fell to 60.9 from 63.6 in July, a two-month low.
