Central, Eastern Europe Investor Confidence Falls: ZEW Survey

(RTTNews) - Investors in Central and Eastern Europe remained downbeat on their future business conditions, though the assessment regarding the current situations improved again, survey results released by the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) showed Thursday.
The ZEW-Erste Group Bank CEE Indicator dropped by 8.7 points from the previous month to 22.7 in December, reflecting more cautious economic expectations on a six-months time horizon for the region, including Turkey.
The survey report noted that among the financial market experts surveyed, 58.5% expect economic sentiment in the region to stabilize at current level in the next six months. However, this assessment is not included in the calculation of the indicator.

Meanwhile, the assessment of the current economic situation has improved again in December with respective indicator climbing by 5.3 points to the 22 mark.
Expectations for the Eurozone decreased by 7.2 points minus 1.7 in December, while the experts' view on the current situation in the 16-nation bloc deteriorated notably. The respective indicator dropped by 7.6 points to minus 29.1.
