(RTTNews) - Finnish manufacturing confidence improved slightly in December, survey data showed Monday. The Confederation of Finnish Industries EK's Business Tendency Survey revealed that the manufacturing confidence indicator rose slightly to 7 points from revised 6 points in November. The confidence index is currently a bit stronger than long-term average of 3. Production is projected to rise steadily despite order books being still somewhat below normal.
Construction confidence rose to long-term average level in December. The index came in at minus 6 points compared to negative 16 in November. At the same time, the services confidence indicator stayed almost unchanged at 27 points compared to November's reading of 28.
Confidence amongst retailers improved to 22 from 17 in November. The long term average is zero.
