(RTTNews) - Hungarian retail sales fell 0.7% year-on-year in October, belying expectations for a 0.6% increase, the Central Statistical Office said on Wednesday. Sales had risen 0.9% in September.
Retail trade at food, beverages and tobacco stores fell 1.3% in October, while that of non-food items was unchanged.Month-on-month, seasonally adjusted sales fell the same 0.7%, erasing September's 0.3% gain.
In the first ten months of the year combined, retail sales decreased by 2.7% compared to the corresponding period of 2009.
