UK Housing Equity Injections Increase In Q3

(RTTNews) - Individuals injected GBP 6.1 billion into housing equity in the third quarter, the Bank of England said Wednesday. The negative figure for the first quarter was revised to GBP 5.8 billion from GBP 6.2 billion.

Individuals have injected GBP 49.7 billion into housing equity since the second quarter of 2008, when the housing equity withdrawal turned negative. HEW is new borrowing secured on dwellings that is not invested in the housing market.
HEW as a percentage of post-tax income was negative 2.4% in the third quarter compared with revised minus 2.3% in the second quarter.
