(RTTNews) - British services sector output increased 0.6% in the three months to October compared to the previous three-month period, latest data from the Office for National Statistics showed Thursday. From the previous year, output was up 2.3%.
In October, the services index fell 0.4% month-on-month, while increased 1.9% year-on-year. Four of the five components of the services sector increased in the most recent month on the same month a year earlier. The largest contribution to the increase was business services and finance, which rose 2.6%.
Distribution output rose 1.7% in October compared with the previous year. Services at hotels and restaurants increased 2.6%, transport, storage and communication showed no change and government and other services output was up 1.7%.
