US chain store sales +3.8 pct last week-Redbook

NEW YORK, Dec (Reuters) - Redbook Research on Tuesday released the following seasonally adjusted weekly data on U.S. chain store sales:
Year-over-year: Week (w/e 12/18/10) +3.8 pct
Year-over-year:Month (Dec 2010 vs Dec 2009) +3.3 pct
Month-over-month: (Dec 2010 vs Nov 2010) +0.1 pct
The Johnson Redbook Retail Sales Index is a sales-weighted index of year-over-year same-store sales growth in a sample of large U.S. general merchandise retailers representing about 9,000 stores.
