Bulgaria's Inflation Eases In December

(RTTNews) - Bulgaria's inflation eased slightly to 4.5% in December from 4.6% in November, the National Statistical Institute said Wednesday.
On a monthly basis, prices rose 0.4%, while the annual average inflation for the last 12 months was 2.4%.
Prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco surged 26.4% year-on-year. Transport charges climbed 10.1%.
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages increased 4% annually during the month, while clothing and footwear prices edged up 0.1%. Costs of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels rose 3.8% from a year earlier.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices were up 0.4% in December, following a 0.7% rise in November.
The harmonized index of consumer prices, or HICP, rose 4.4% annually in December and increased 0.8% on a monthly basis.
