SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch)
Altera Corp. on Tuesday reported a second-quarter profit of $214.63 million, or 65 cents a share, compared with a profit of $180.61 million, or 58 cents a share, for the year-earlier period.
Revenue was $548.38 million, up from $469.3 million.
Analysts had expected the chip company to report earnings of 64 cents a share, on revenue of $549.56 million, according to a consensus survey by FactSet Research.
