WASHINGTON (MarketWatch)
Construction spending fell 0.6% in May to a seasonally adjusted $753.5 billion, worse than the 0.1% dip that economists polled by MarketWatch had anticipated, as residential construction dropped 2.1%. That represents a 7.1% downturn from May 2010.
April's data was downwardly revised to show a 0.6% drop.
