SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch)
Advanced Micro Devices AMD -9.11% on Wednesday cut its third-quarter sales forecast.
The chip company said it now expects sales to rise 4% to 6% from the second quarter, compared to a previous outlook for an increase of 10%, plus or minus 2%.
AMD said the change was due to "32-nanometer yield, ramp and manufacturing issues at GlobalFoundries in its Dresden, Germany factory" which led to limited supply of its Llano chip.
