SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch)
The American Petroleum Institute late Tuesday said oil inventories in the U.S. increased 568,000 barrels in the week ended Sept. 23.
The trade group also reported gasoline stocks up 4.6 million barrels, and inventories of distillates down 223,000 barrels.
The API report comes ahead of official data from the Department of Energy's Energy Information Administration due 10:30 a.m. Eastern on Wednesday.
Analysts polled by Platts expect the DOE to show crude stocks unchanged, gasoline inventories up 1.2 million barrels, and inventories of distillates up 1 million barrels.
