New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said his office and the City of New York have sued Bank of New York Mellon Corp. alleging the bank defrauded pension funds by not providing the best rates on foreign-currency transactions as promised.
The bank made $2 billion from the trades, accounting for 65% of its foreign-exchange revenue, over a period of 10 years, the office said.
