SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch)
Fitch Ratings late Thursday placed several large banks, including Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley on review for a possible downgrade due to concerns about their business models and structural challenges that they face.
The affected banks include Barclays Bank , BNP Paribas , Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank .
Fitch also placed viability ratings of Bank of America and Societe Generale on Rating Watch Negative.
The move reflects Fitch's view their business models are "particularly sensitive" to the challenges resulting economic developments in the euro area and various regulatory changes, the ratings agency said.
