U.S. stocks drop on Dow, S&P 500; Nasdaq gains

U.S. stocks closed with losses for two of three benchmark indexes Tuesday, deflated by the situation in Europe, where euro-zone policymakers and Greek bondholders appeared at an impasse over the country's debt restructuring
The Nasdaq Composite, however, gained ahead of three big tech company reports, including Apple Inc. after the close
The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 33.07 points, or 0.3%, to 12,675.75
The S&P 500 fell 1.4 points, or 0.1%, to 1,314.65
The Nasdaq Composite added 2.47 points, or 0.1%, to 2,786.64
