Crude-oil inventories rose in the week ended Jan. 20, the American Petroleum Institute said in a report late Tuesday
Supplies were higher by 2.01 million barrels, the trade group said
The API also reported gasoline stocks declined 461,000 barrels, and stockpiles of distillates rose 970,000 barrels
The Energy Information Administration is scheduled to report official data Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Eastern
Analysts polled by Platts expect crude oil stocks up 3 million barrels, gasoline stocks up 1 million barrels, and distillates stocks down 1.2 million barrels.
