FRANKFURT (MarketWatch)
Britain's Office for Budget Responsibility will revise its economic forecast slightly higher when the U.K. government presents its budget this week, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday
The newspaper said economists are confident the OBR will raise its forecast for 2012 growth from 0.7% to 0.8% and won't predict a technical recession of two consecutive quarters of contraction
A faster growth forecast would make it slightly easier for Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne to project meeting his goal of eliminating the government's structural deficit by the 2016-17 financial year
Osborne will present the budget to Parliament on Wednesday
