Crude-oil inventories rose 3.6 million barrels in the week ended March 23, the American Petroleum Institute said late Tuesday
The trade group also reported gasoline supplies up 1.3 million barrels and inventories of distillates down 1.4 million barrels
The group's report comes ahead of Wednesday's report by the Energy Information Administration Analysts polled by Platts expect the report to show an increase in crude stocks by 2.75 million barrels, as well as declines for gasoline and distillates supplies by 1.5 million barrels and 1 million barrels, respectively
