United Parcel Service Inc. was upgraded Monday to overweight from neutral at J.P. Morgan after the package delivery firm said it'll pay $6.77 billion for TNT Express NV, which is partly owned by Post NL NV
Analysts called the acquisition a "big win" for UPS
"We believe the company's agreement to buy TNTE is a significant positive and we anticipate favorable trends in UPS's core domestic package business," analysts said
UPS should see "significant" additions to its earnings in 2013 and 2014 from the TNTE deal
"We also view it as a strategic positive in terms of boosting UPS's global footprint," analysts said
