SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch)
U.S. stocks ended broadly lower Wednesday, weighed by a report on long-lasting orders that fell short of expectations, quarter-end profit taking and some lingering worries about global growth
Industrial, energy and metals stocks were particularly hard hit
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 71.52 points, or 0.5%, to 13,126.21, led by a 3.5% drop in Caterpillar Inc. shares
The S&P 500 fell 6.98 points, or 0.5%, to 1,405.54, with materials and energy falling the most Financials rose
The Nasdaq Composite fell 15.39 points, or 0.5%, to 3,104.96
