U.S. stocks tumbled Thursday, as weaker Chinese factory activity and contractions in European business activity overshadowed better news on U.S. jobs
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 78.48 points, or 0.6%, to 13,046.14
The S&P 500 lost 10.11 points, or 0.7%, to 1,392.78, its first close below 1,400 in just over a week
The Nasdaq Composite fell 12 points, or 0.4%, to 3,063.32
