U.S. stocks drop on IBM, Intel missteps


SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch)
U.S. stocks ended lower Wednesday as results from IBM Corp. and Intel Corp. sapped some enthusiasm for tech stocks, and a day after the S&P 500's best day in a month
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 82.79 points, or 0.6%, to 13,032.75, led by a 3.5% drop in IBM  shares
Blue-chip Intel fell 1.8%
The S&P 500 lost 5.64 points, or 0.4%, to 1,385.14
Financials dropped 0.8%, led by a 24% tumble in Genworth Financial  shares
Tech also fell
The Nasdaq Composite declined 11.37 points, or 0.4%, to 3,031.45
The day's move came ahead of a wave of earnings after the bell, including American Express Co. and Ebay Inc.
