Manufacturing activity in Britain expanded at a
slower pace in April, according to a survey of purchasing managers released on
Tuesday
The Markit/CIPS manufacturing purchasing managers index fell to 50.5 in
April from 51.9 in March
A reading of more than 50 indicates an expansion in
activity
Economists surveyed by Dow Jones Newswires had forecast a reading of
52.0.
