Unemployment fell 0.6% in May versus the prior month in
Spain, according to official data released Monday
The number of jobless dropped
30,113 against the prior month to a total of 4,714,122
In April, the total
number of unemployed was 4.744.235
Against a year ago, unemployment rose
524,463, a rise of 12.5%
Youth unemployment, those under 25, fell 10,429, or
2.1%, versus April
Eurostat figures released last week showed Spain
unemployment at 24.3% for April, the highest in the 17-nation euro zone
Spain
is currently suffering from deep economic downturn brought about by a collapse
in the housing market
