Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Russia is
sending attack helicopters to Syria and is concerned the arms shipment will
escalate the conflict, according to media reports Tuesday. Clinton reportedly
said that the shipment "will escalate the conflict quite dramatically."

in the day, the U.N.'s head of peacekeeping operations, Herve Ladsous, told
Reuters that the 15-month-old conflict in Syria between the regime of President
Bashar al-Assad and opposition groups has degenerated into a civil war
