U.S. stocks ended near their highs of the day
Wednesday, extending gains into a second day, after Intel Corp.'s
forecast, while reduced, gave a lift to tech stocks and
following testimony from Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke
The Dow Jones
Industrial Average rose
103.16 points, or 0.8%, to 12,908.7
The top 5 gainers were tech stocks
The
S&P 500 added
9.11 points, or 0.7%, to 1,372.78, led by a 1.9% rise in tech stocks
Financials
and consumer staples lagged
The Nasdaq Composite rose
32.56 points, or 1.1%, to 2,942.60
