Verizon Communications Inc. on Thursday
reported a second-quarter net income attributable to Verizon of $1.8 billion, or
64 cents a share, up from $1.6 billion, or 57 cents a share, a year earlier
Revenue rose to $28.6 billion from $27.5 billion, a year ago
Analysts polled by
FactSet Research were looking for a profit of 64 cents a share on revenue of
$28.6 billion
The company said it remains on track to meet its goal of
delivering "solid double-digit earnings growth" in 2012
