Dow extends losing streak to four; H-P's 8% fall is biggest since August 2011

U.S. stocks finished sharply lower Thursday, with all three indexes taking their hardest hit in more than a month, after Federal Bank of St. Louis President James Bullard played down thinking that a third round of quantitative easing is on the way
Bullard's comments to CNBC is "what has caused today's market swoon," said Kim Forrest, equity analyst at Fort Pitt Capital Group Inc. Down for a fourth session, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 115.3 points, or 0.9%, to 13,057.46
The S&P 500 index declined 11.41 points, or 0.8%, to 1,402.08
The Nasdaq Composite shed 20.27 points, or 0.7%, to 3,053.4
