Nasdaq ekes out gain, but B. of A. and H-P losses keep Dow in red

Blue-chip stocks sagged for a second straight session on Tuesday, while the Nasdaq Composite inched higher amid low volumes
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 21.68 points, or 0.2%, to 13,102.99, led by Hewlett-Packard Co. and Bank of America Corp.
The S&P 500 fell 1.14 points, or 0.1%, to 1,409.30
The Nasdaq Composite edged up 3.95 points, or 0.1%, to 3,077.14
Volume was very low, with less than 2.6 billion shares in New York Stock Exchange-listed shares changing hands
Caution ahead of a key Federal Reserve speech Friday has dominated trading this week
