TOKYO
Mitsubishi Motor Corp. said Friday that sales dropped 62.9% to 2,340
vehicles in China in September amid strong concerns over the impact of
anti-Japanese sentiment fueled by a territorial row between China and Japan
The September sales posted a larger on-year drop than the 33.4% slump in
August and lower sales volume than the 3,495 vehicles sold in the previous
month
As Japanese auto makers are facing fierce pressure in China following
anti-Japanese protests in mid-September, fears of sagging demand have led some
car makers to lower local production
