U.S. stocks end higher; S&P 500 up for 4th session
NEW YORK (MarketWatch)
U.S. stocks closed higher on Thursday, with the S&P 500 index posting a fourth day of gains, after weekly data offered a mostly positive read on the U.S. economy a day before the September jobs report
The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 80.75 points, or 0.6%, to 13,575.36, as Bank of America Corp. rallied 3.3%
The S&P 500 index rose 10.41 points, or 0.7%, to 1,461.40 and the Nasdaq Composite climbed 14.23 points, or 0.5%, to 3,149.46
