Yahoo profit jumps on Alibaba sale

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch)
Yahoo Inc. on Monday reported a third-quarter profit of $3.16 billion, or $2.64 a share, compared with a profit of $298.3 million, or 23 cents a share, for the year-earlier period Revenue, minus traffic acquisition costs, was $1.09 billion, up from $1.07 billion
Adjusted profit was 35 cents a share
The company's results included a net gain of $2.8 billion related to the sale of Alibaba shares, and restructuring charges of $16 million
Analysts were expecting the company to report a profit of 26 cents a share, on revenue of $1.08 billion, according to a consensus survey by FactSet

El beneficio de Yahoo se multiplica por 10

El beneficio neto de Yahoo se multiplicó por más de diez entre julio y septiembre con respecto al mismo trimestre de 2011 hasta los 3.160 millones de dólares, tras cerrar la venta del portal chino Alibaba.

El resultado contrasta con los 293,3 millones de dólares de hace un año y pese a que los ingresos ordinarios bajaron un 1 por ciento hasta 1.202 millones de dólares.
