China's industrial output showed an expectations-beating pick-up in October, while retail sales and fixed-asset investment also came in slightly ahead of forecasts, according to data released Friday
Industrial output rose 9.6% in October, higher than the 9.4% rise forecast in separate surveys by Reuters and Dow Jones Newswires, and marking an improvement from September's 9.2% gain
Retail sales were up 14.5% for the month from a year earlier, compared to Reuters' forecast for a 14% rise, and the previous month's 14.2% increase
Meanwhile, fixed-asset investment -- a measure of spending on construction, plant equipment and other projects -- grew 20.7% year on year in the first 10 months of the year, compared to a 20.6% rise tipped by Reuters and Dow Jones Newswires

La aceleración del crecimiento de las exportaciones de China en los últimos dos meses muestra que la segunda mayor economía del mundo está comenzando a estabilizarse, dijo el sábado a periodistas el ministro de Comercio Chen Deming.
Sin embargo, aún será difícil que China cumpla su meta de un 10 por ciento de crecimiento para el año completo, dijo Chen en una reunión en actividades complementarias al congreso del Partido Comunista.
Los datos comerciales chinos divulgados el sábado mostraron que las exportaciones crecieron un 11,6 por ciento en octubre respecto al año previo, superando las expectativas del mercado de una expansión del 9 por ciento y por sobre el 9,9 por ciento registrado en septiembre.
Eso fue significativamente mayor al crecimiento de las exportaciones en julio y agosto, que alcanzó un 1,0 por ciento y un 2,7 por ciento, respectivamente.
