3M profit climbs 4%, sticks to 2013 view

NEW YORK (MarketWatch)
3M Co. said Thursday its fourth-quarter profit rose to $991 million, or $1.41 a share, from $954 million, or $1.35 a share, in the year-ago period
Sales at the adhesives maker rose to $7.39 billion from $7.09 billion
Wall Street analysts expected 3M to earn $1.41 a share on sales of $7.17 billion, according to a survey by FactSet
Looking ahead, 3M said it continues to expect 2013 profit of $6.70 to $6.95 a share, compared to the analyst estimate of $6.86 a share
3M is one of 30 stocks in the Dow Jones Industrial Average
