the Institute for Supply Management's services sector index climbed to 56.1%
from 54.7% in November
Economists polled by MarketWatch had expected a 54.7%
reading
The details of the report also were generally good, with the new-orders
index climbing by 1.2 percentage points to 59.3% and the employment index
climbing 6 percentage points to 56.3% Any reading above 50% indicates
expansion
