S&P Equity Strategy Group downgraded financial stocks Monday to marketweight, citing headline risk to the sector
Fiscal headline risk was acting to reduce the steepness of the yield curve, said analysts and according to the Capital IQ consensus, the sector's estimated earnings per share growth is seen as going from 11.4% estimated for 2013 to slowing to 5.6% in 2014
Analysts also said the sector's technical outlook has deteriorated and is now neutral after having been positive for several months
This latest report is in line with other recent analyst notes and revisions on the sector
