Danish Consumer Confidence Declines In December
(RTTNews) - Confidence among Danish consumers deteriorated sharply in December as their assessment of the current economic situation worsened, data from Statistics Denmark showed Monday.
The consumer confidence indicator fell to minus 0.7 in December from 3.6 in November. The statistical office said that the sentiment was in positive territory so far this year.
Consumers' assessment of current personal situation dropped during the month with the corresponding indicator falling to minus 0.7 from 2.8 in the previous month.
However, households' economic expectations for the next one year remained stable with the relevant index remaining steady at 11.9 in December.
Perceptions about the current general economic conditions worsened as the gauage fell to minus 12.6 from minus 8.7. The indicator measuring consumers' one-year ahead expectations for Danish economy dropped to 11.1 from 13.5.
Also, the indicator for households' propensity to buy durable goods plunged to minus 13.1 in December from minus 1.6 in the previous month.
