(RTTNews) - Netherlands annual retail sales decreased in October from the previous year, the Central Bureau of Statistics said on Thursday.
Retail sales value dropped 1.7% year-on-year in October, compared to a 3% rise in the previous month, which was revised from 2.9% growth reported initially.Turnover in food and beverage stores slipped 1% annually in October, compared to a 3.1% growth in the preceding month. At the same time, turnover in supermarkets decreased to 0.6% versus 4% rise in September. Sales for non-food stores fell 3.6%, after a 1.7% rise in September.
Meanwhile, retail sales volume fell 3% on an annual basis in October, compared to a 1.6% rise in the previous month. In the third quarter, sales volume increased 0.1% over a year ago.
