The import price index rose 4% year-on-year in October, but slower than a 4.9% rise in the previous month. A year earlier, import prices were up 0.9%.
The import price index for the Eurozone market grew 1.6% annually in October, while the price index of non-Eurozone market rose 6.5%.Intermediate goods prices rose 3.2% in October from the previous year, while capital goods prices remained unchanged. At the same time, durable consumer goods prices were up 1.8% and non-durable consumer goods prices rose 1.2%. The price index for energy climbed 12%.
On a monthly basis, import prices remained unchanged in October, compared to a 0.8% fall in the preceding month. The import price index of the Eurozone rose 0.4% in the month and non-Eurozone market, it dropped by 0.4%.
