Greek Retail Sales Continue To Fall In October

(RTTNews) - Greek retail sales continued to decline in October, but at a slower pace, data from the Hellenic Statistical Authority showed Thursday.
Retail sales, excluding trade in automotive fuels, dropped 10.3% annually in real terms in October, marking the seventh consecutive month of decline since March. This followed a steeper 11.6% decline in September.
Total retail sales declined 8.1% in real terms during the month. The decline was milder than the 10.5% decrease in the preceding month.

Total retail sales declined 8.1% in real terms during the month. The decline was milder than the 10.5% decrease in the preceding month. Trade in food products dropped 9.1% compared to 8.8% fall in September.
Automotive fuel sales recorded a 2.4% annual decline compared to 8.8% fall in September. Retail trade in non-food sector, that excludes sale of automotive fuels, was 11.5% lower than last year's level. The corresponding decline in September was 14.5%.
At current prices, retail sales, excluding trade in automotive fuel, slipped 7.3% year-on-year following an 8.6% drop in the previous month.
