Czech Retail Sales Continue To Decline In November
(RTTNews) - Czech's retail sales, including sales and repair of motor vehicles decreased a seasonally adjusted 0.3% month-on-month in November, the Czech Statistical Office said Tuesday.
Year-on-year, retail sales, including sales and repair of motor vehicles, grew 5% in December, reversing a 0.7% decline in November. Economists had expected an increase of 2.5%. The annual increase in retail sales alone was 1.2%.
The increase was mainly driven by greater sales in automotive segment and due to higher number of working days, the statistical office said.
After adjustment for seasonal, calendar and working days, sales in retail trade and the sale and repair of motor vehicles declined 0.3% on a monthly basis and rose 3.4% over a year ago.
After adjusting to seasonal variations, sales and repair of motor vehicles increased 0.2% at constant prices on a monthly basis. Compared to a year earlier, sales and repair of motor vehicles grew 12%.
Retail sales, that included sales of automotive fuel, fell 0.5% month-on-month according to data adjusted for seasonal influences. Annually, it grew 0.2%.
