(RTTNews) - Hungary's seasonally adjusted manufacturing purchasing managers' index fell to 52.9 in December from a revised 54.8 in November, the Hungarian Association of Logistics, Purchasing and Inventory Management, or HALPIM, said Monday.
November's reading has been revised down from 54.9 reported earlier. A PMI index figure above 50 indicates expansion of the sector while a reading below 50 shows contraction.

(RTTNews) - Hungary's seasonally adjusted manufacturing purchasing managers' index fell to 52.9 in December from a revised 54.8 in November, the Hungarian Association of Logistics, Purchasing and Inventory Management, or HALPIM, said Monday.
November's reading has been revised down from 54.9 reported earlier. A PMI index figure above 50 indicates expansion of the sector while a reading below 50 shows contraction.
New orders placed with Hungarian manufacturing firms increased for a twelfth consecutive month in December, albeit at a weaker pace. The corresponding index fell by 4.6 percentage points to 57.8.
The index for production dropped by 1.5 percentage points to 55, while the purchasing volume index decreased by 2.4 percentage points to 54.2.
The index for imports fell by 3.7 percentage points to 53 in December. The indicator for exports was at 52.8, 4.6 percentage points lower than in the previous month. Hiring activity weakened during the month as the employment index fell by 1.9 percentage points to 54.4 during the month.
