BMC Software reported better-than-expected earnings for the first fiscal quarter on Wednesday afternoon as licensing revenues grew 11% for the period.
For the quarter ended June 30, BMC reported net income of $95.7 million, or 53 cents per share, compared to net income of $92.8 million, or 50 cents a share, for the same period the previous year. Revenue rose 9% to $502.4 million.
On a non-GAAP basis, BMC said it earned $129 million, or 72 cents per share, for the recent period. Analysts had been expecting earnings of 68 cents a share on revenues of $506.4 million, according to consensus estimates from Thomson Reuters.
