Boeing Co. the Chicago aerospace major, closed the largest order in its history: Lion Air of Jakarta placed a firm order for 201 model 737 Max jets and 29 model 737-900 extended-range jets
Boeing had said in November that the two companies were verging on the deal
The purchase of the 230 planes is list-priced at $22.4 billion, although airlines that buy in bulk often receive discounts from these figures
The order is Boeing's largest by dollar value and by number of planes
Lion Air also has taken options on another 150 planes, the companies said in a Tuesday statement
