Royal Bank of Scotland swings to 4th-period loss

Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC the U.K. financial-services group, swung to a fourth-quarter loss from a year-earlier profit on 17% lower revenue
The loss was £1.8 billion compared with profit of £12 million in the year-earlier quarter
Revenue fell to £5.92 billion from £7.14 billion
Core operating profit fell 36% to £1.06 billion from £1.67 billion
Operating expenses fell 7.5% to £3.33 billion
The core tier 1 capital ratio at Dec. 31 was 10.6% against 10.7% a year earlier
