Consumer confidence in Germany is expected to remain
steady in June, Nuremberg-based research firm GfK said Friday
The German
consumer confidence index was steady in May at 5.7, with the overall indicator
forecasting an identical reading for June, GfK said
"The consumer climate is
therefore stable once again and is in a strong position for the onset of
summer," GfK said
The closely watched German Ifo business climate index on
Thursday fell more sharply than expected to a six-month low, reflecting
increased concern among business managers over the impact of the euro-zone debt
crisis
